any way to modding the WAR?

Postby panzerito » 10 December 2013, 23:11

Hello, is that it is too early to talk about that, but I wanted to know if there is any possibility to modding the game, in order to make such all maps be actually RVR Lakes, some time ago in a blog showed the potential that have many areas that are currently empty.

atm our first ambition it's to develop all system to play without bug.

Later, we want to modify something of the RvR system to improve the fault of the game. But modding the game map is not in our ambition. Sorry.

Against by, we will modify somes texture in the game. Modified with the launcher.

atm is important to have a solid game without bug..

aniway on the official server there is an old project (abandoned due to closure) for warhammer HD retexture

here is the link http://social.bioware.com/forum/Getting ... 753-1.html

now i dont know if these people can work on an HD texture patch for the private server.

I think that's possible with the "SweetFX" although gives some graphical errors in constructions and some npc´s

Iam glad that someone figured out their engine, I've always wanted to kick mythics in their lazy butts  Don't let WHO die so horribly and ugly death.
When I was new to WHO and didn't knew all that crap that I know now. I have managed to extract textures, but other files was messed and to work with them was mindboggling. Using Maya\Mudbox and 3ds Max I can try to retexture some models for the Empire.

Atm we can change the texture, but the model it's really don't sure, and is it really necessary?
The first way it's to develop the RvR system, like the first warhammer version.

And for that, we need all informations of the older warhammer players !

We need you ! ;) Waaagh

If what you're asking is that someone could add new content to the game, I'm not really sure, but if we can dig in the client files and modify things, I'm pretty sure it will be possible, it will be hard, tho.

Anyways, I think they're doing a great job by first polishing the server Emulator to fix bugs and make the game experience nice to players who loved WHO, so they can continue loving it, in better hands, tho!

It really gives me a pleasure to laugh in the face of EA so they can see the big error that they were doing by killing Warhammer Online. Oh man, this is SO GOOD.

I mean you need to repaint texture on the model if you need things right, but it can wait, yes.

There are tons of feedback on official forum about every aspect of the game and from every perspective. Just few mentions about gimp classes, bombsquads, armor resistances and pots, hidden levels(80-100 RR) and already its a huge amount of gameplay and text walls.
From my personal perspective as Warrior priest, T1 and T2 was good because my role as melee healer with 2handed hammer was effective. All following gameplay at T3 and T4 you must be aoe healbot(1h+book), not only because 2h melee healer is underpowered, but his talents was inferior.

It is possible, but you've to disable an option ingame, and restart the game after it.
(So it wont cause bugs).

I'm currently working on adding sweetfx+enb to Warhammer online, also I'm trying to (re)write some shaders for Warhammer and inject them through enbseries...got a basic SSAO working for example.

After (WIP).

What are the changes?
- SMAA (Antialiasing), much needed, look at the rocks from before and after...
- Bloom (sweetfx, combined with enb)
- Sharp filter (only a bit)
- HDR
- Tonemapping
- Some more color filters

Btw someone should maybe try to contact the guy who worked on the HD textures....

PS: You've to click on the links, using makes them way to big, and downscale them with html doesn't work on this site :/
